I can’t believe the 4th is tomorrow. Seems like it takes forever to get here and then once it’s over the summer flies by. July looks even crazier than usual this year. On top of the non-stop birthdays, Piper has a Meet the Instruments class, starts recorder lessons, and has a week of science class. This is in addition to gymnastics and art class. It’s not quite as bad as it looks since 2 of the classes are in the evening leaving our days free for plenty of beach frolicking.
It’s finally a lovely day in the neighborhood here. We’ve had yet another stretch of turrential downpours, so we’re greatly enjoying the sun and relative lack of humidity. Just in time too. Tonight we’ll be heading up to Crane Estates for the fireworks. I think this is the 3rd year and it’s always fun. They have things for the kids earlier in the evening and then the Merrimack Valley Orchestra. Piper is really all about the glow sticks though. No personal fireworks here-even sparklers are banned so these are the alternative. I have to admit they are much safer and she really does love them. She also seems very excited about the parade this year even though she normally only makes it through about half of it before we walk back down to our house. Have I mentioned how much I love having the parade go by on our cross street? No parking hassles here. 🙂 Anyhow, the parade is long. I mean really long. Which wouldn’t be bad except a good half of it is emergency vehicles. We even have them from other states. I think I counted around 40 one year. The town birthday year was excruciating. I do love the bagpipes and fife and drum corps though and it’s overall very cheerful.
Hope everyone has a great holiday!
PS My computer cord finally completely gave out so no pictures until the new one comes in. I’m on Tim’s computer. Yuck!
