We try our best to do at least some homemade gifts for holidays. Here are a few of the latest efforts:
For Father’s Day, Piper and I made Tim a mosaic stepping stone for the garden. This project is from the magazine Living Crafts. The layout was hers, I just helped a bit getting things into place and grouting. Just as a note, Home Depot and Lowe’s have very limited colors in tile. Definitely no bright reds, blues, or yellows like those shown in the magazine. Also, stepping stone shapes other than square were just not happening. Have to say though, despite the crazy search for materials, I love the way it turned out.
For my birthday, Piper and Tim painted me some flower pots to spruce up the indoor plants in the window. Perfectly themed since the only plants I seem to be able to keep alive are succulents and cacti!
