Piper wanted to post the chicken poems that came out of her cursive practice. She also chose the photos from those I took. I love how fun and creative she is being with this exercise.
The Chicks Are Playing
The sun is bright.
The sky is blue.
The chicks are playing in our green yard.
The hawks will eat chickens if they do not get under bushes at first sight.

Boo is rust colored.
Hush is very smart.
Flicker is like an arrow.
Number Two is as fast as lightning and as dark as night.
Sable is a light as day and as dark as night.
Pirate is owner of the food.

Boo is leader in things that do not have trouble.
Hush is a leader of trouble.
Flicker has an ivory face and ivory with black-striped chest and neck. She also has a black and white back and black wing and tail feathers.
Number Two is like a hawk.
Sable is shy but gentle.
Pirate has only one eye.
All the chicks like clover.

Boo has a white heart around her eye, beak, and chin.
Hush is light with dark tail and wing feathers.
Flicker will let you pet her if you give her food.
Number Two has a blue, green, and black ring around her neck.
Sable has a black cap on her head.
Pirate is gold and black and cross-beaked.
Boo is rust-colored with a white heart. It goes around her eye and beak. There also is a spot under her chin. She is a leader.
