Since the cold weather was on its way, I decided to let the chickens out for a free range. These have become few and far between because of the Luna/Pirate situation. At this point it is far more important for Luna to be able to release excess energy by running around in the backyard than for the chickens to roam free. Since the girls were out and about, Piper decided to get spend a little time getting reacquainted. With a little patience and the lure of birdseed they come right up and eat out of her hand.
I’m not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but this morning Tim collected the biggest egg I’ve ever seen. In fact, it is so large it won’t even fit into the carton. Our deepest sympathies to the chicken who laid that one!
