Piper and Tim’s Artwork – Charlie Chaplin, Self-Portrait

Finally!  Both Tim and Piper finished this weeks project at class so I can post them at the same time.

Charlie Chaplin was done using ebony pencil and charcoal on gray paper.  Very messy!  He’s kind of an odd figure to draw.  His mustache is actually felt, making it unusually thick and dark and he would shave off his eyebrows and pencil them on higher.

I think Tim did a good job and this does look like him, but I’m definitely thrown off by how serious he looks.  When I picture him he’s smiling, which when you think about it is a good thing.  🙂
